For 25 percent of the population, bad breath, or halitosis, is a problem that they have to deal with. The good news is that with proper oral hygiene you can help fight against any halitosis you might have.

Our dentist, Dr. Dhiraj Sharma, is an expert in oral health. That’s why our team at American Dental Associates has come together to give you some tips on how you can best fight your bad breath.

Stop smoking. If you do smoke, start taking steps now to quit smoking. Smoking can lead to higher risks of lung and oral cancer, but it also creates an environment in your mouth that bacteria and disease can thrive in. By eliminating smoking, you can start to remove some of those bacteria that can lead to bad breath.

Brush your teeth the recommended amount every day. We recommend that you brush your teeth at least twice a day for at minimum of two minutes each time. This will help remove some of those bacteria that lead to halitosis.
